Anne T. Pettus | Landscape Architect

Anne T. joined Lynchburg Landscapes to ensure quality design outcomes. She is an accomplished landscape architect with over twenty five years of experience. She earned her undergraduate degree at The University of Virginia, and gained a Master of Landscape Architecture degree at Harvard. She became a Registered Landscape Architect in 1987, and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

After Harvard, Pettus worked as a restoration landscape architect for New York’s Central Park. In 1991 she moved to Australia and established an innovative urban design and landscape architecture practice, Paterson + Pettus, in Melbourne. The firm won numerous awards and produced a body of significant work. Her projects included urban design plans, streetscapes, urban plazas, urban revitalisation, campus plans, commercial development, housing, parks and recreation, and residential gardens. For several years she taught studio design and landscape history at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, where she became the landscape architecture program leader.

Returning to America, she has worked primarily on campus planning, commercial, and residential garden projects. Growing up in southern Virginia, she developed a special appreciation for small towns, cultural landscapes, and local history.
